5G MCX Mission-Critical Communication and Dispatch System: The 5G-based MCX (Mission Critical Communication) Dispatch System is a comprehensive wireless communication solution designed for sectors such as rail transit and airports. It provides real-time voice, video, data, and location communication capabilities for both fixed users (e.g., rail transit control centers, airport control towers) and mobile users (e.g., train drivers, ground staff), robustly supporting both daily operations and emergency coordination.
The system adheres to the user, functional, and system requirement specifications outlined by the International Union of Railways (UIC) for the Future Railway Mobile Communication System (FRMCS) project, as well as the MCX wireless communication standards defined by ETSI and 3GPP. A key feature of the system is the decoupling of the MCX platform from the underlying network transport channel, allowing for flexible selection of LTE, 5G, or Wi-Fi networks as the wireless transmission medium.
The terminal product portfolio includes: DC, Cab Radio, Desktop Radio, TAU, Handheld Terminal, and Audio/Video recorders. Leveraging the MCX platform to deliver mission-critical communication capabilities, the system enables: Voice Dispatch: Supporting call modes such as Individual Call and Group Call; Video Integration(Supporting scenarios like video calling and live video backhaul);Data Services:(( Including services like short messaging, multimedia messaging, and electronic work order push).Furthermore, through gateways, the system achieves protocol adaptation and interconnection with systems such as video surveillance, video conferencing, narrowband radios, and public/private telephone networks. This facilitates cross-terminal service coordination, covering all scenarios from mobile field operations to fixed-location duty stations.

The MCX platform is based on 3GPP standard protocols and comprises three core mission-critical service subsystems: MCPTT (Mission Critical Push-To-Talk), MCVideo, and MCData. It provides comprehensive multimedia trunking services encompassing voice, video, and data. Designed to meet the stringent demands of mission-critical operations, the system offers high network reliability, superior quality of service (QoS), robust security, and seamless cross-system interoperability. It supports large-scale network deployment and features flexible service expansion and access capabilities.
The system implements the QoS mechanism defined by 3GPP. By interfacing with the 5G Core Network via the N5 interface, it establishes dedicated bearers classified as 5QI (5G QoS Identifier), ensuring communication priority and resource guarantee for critical services. High-priority data transmission maintains connectivity even during network congestion. End-to-end encryption is supported, encompassing security protection for both signaling and application layers, effectively preventing data leakage, tampering, and unauthorized access.
The MCX platform is responsible for core service data processing and distribution, providing identity authentication and user management, handling SIP signaling, and ensuring overall system coordination. It supports interconnection with various external systems through standard interfaces, such as PBX/PSTN/VoLTE networks and TETRA/PDT networks, thereby extending its application scope.
The system is designed for high availability, supporting both local and geographical redundancy schemes. Local active-standby systems can achieve service recovery within 1 minute, while geographical redundancy enables recovery within 3 minutes. The 1+1 active-standby working mode for critical systems like the MCX core and management components ensures continuous service operation.
